In this preprint we aim to provide some framework for how systems thrive from uncertainty, we explore this in a mathematical manner in relation to cancer therapies. #EDITlabarxiv.org/abs/2504.15454
We can then quantify this result via Jensen’s Gap which quantifies antifragility (convex) and fragility (concave) to demonstrate which systems can benefit from variability in input.
If all of this is of interest to you, please consider checking the full textbook, which presents the multidisciplinary impact through antifragile system analysis across fields in natural sciences and provides common mathematical frameworks for analysis.

At the beginning of my journey in mathematical oncology, I never would’ve imagined the places it would take me to. Enjoying my time so far at BIRS looking into mechanistic learning and its applications to radiotherapy
MathOnco Postcards and stickers to be had! They will be located at the SMB booth and Room 155 (1pm-5pm today) and who knows you may find a few in places you least expect! #JMM2024
Very excited to be organizing the AMS Special Session on Nonlinear Dynamics in Human Systems with Thomas Dombrowski at the Joint Mathematics Meeting (JMM) in San Francisco (January 3-6, 2024)!
