Since yesterday was a public holiday in Austria, I missed the chance to visit
@bitcoin_wien , which I was really looking forward to๐ฅน
I also tried to visit one more Bitcoin accepting shop. It seemed to be a verified place on
@btcmap , but unfortunately it was closed for the holiday, so I couldnโt even try paying with Bitcoin there๐ญ
It was a day that made me think more deeply about what kind of effort is needed for Bitcoin communities and Bitcoin accepting stores to become more active in real life๐ค
Sometimes the staff are there but refuse the payment itself.
Sometimes they just donโt know how to process it.
Sometimes thereโs no sticker at all, and even if that part isnโt the most important thing, the place either doesnโt really operate Bitcoin payments anymore or simply refuses them.
In El Salvador, especially in active circular economy areas like
@Bitcoinbeach and
@BitcoinBerlinSV , you can walk into almost any small shop and casually ask to pay with Bitcoin, and more often than not, theyโll actually accept it.
I miss that atmosphere.
I want to feel that again.
Still Iโm really looking forward to meeting
@_einundzwanzig_ next Monday, having deeper conversations, and learning from their experience.
