Watch this. In 2023, you worked 40 hours a week and made $100,000 for the year. You saved all $100,000 and kept it in the USD. At 2% annual inflation (the mandated rate by the Federal Reserve), your money becomes worth $98,000 next year. After 35 years, that original $100,000 is worth $50,000. Inflation and the USD just said that you only worked 20 hours a week in 2023. But you didn’t. You worked 40 hours. Nope. Inflation says you only worked 20 hours. I am a nobody, ok, first of all. Some of the biggest names around crypto don't know DRiP yet. I run a startup attempting to get content & media on-chain, and new collectors, inside the @drip_haus universe because I think it's one of the best use cases for crypto. I think memecoins are an interesting new primitive, but I have nothing to do with them, I've never made one, and I don't really own any. @davido is one of the most legendary musicians of all time from a region where we have many, many users and creators. Getting his content on DRiP would be a net positive. I do not know if he will do it or be able to do it. But he tweeted "sign me up" and that's what we did. We gave it our best effort to ensure he saw it and that it seemed meaningful, in the hopes to make it attractive for him to follow-through. Ansem invited me to co-host a space tonight with Davido as a guest. That's important - it was our space, not Davido's. I listened to both the Iggy & Soulja Boy spaces and IMO, there was a lack of a true voice of the Solana community in those. It was extremely surface level and almost entirely talking heads. I thought this would be a good opportunity for DRiP, and to try to provide a different type of atmosphere than the others. Part of MY goal OBVIOUSLY was to talk about DRiP (and only for a moment btw) to ensure he understood what we were going to ask him for (content), and part of it was to educate his audience/listeners on Solana. AND, Davido quite literally said he wanted to listen and learn. That, to me, is a sign that he might want to stick around and engage more. But even if he doesn't, a whole bunch of people learned about Solana wallets, payments, music on-chain, and other topics too. The road to get crypto in the hands of everyone, IMO is always two steps forward, one step back.
