Lucy found me in the desert at a time when I was unfocused and distracted, my thoughts halfway around the world in Virginia with my little son and the new dad life I had left behind me. She kept me grounded and ensured that that little boy's dad would come home to him. Almost ten years to the day after Lucy came home, she was taken away by the government in the country I served to defend. Two months later, on the evening before that boy's eleventh birthday, she came home. It has an appealing symmetry. I told you I'd update you on what happened yesterday. Well I think that may have to wait a day. It's my son's birthday and I plan to make that my focus today.

I'm too spent to offer much of an update, but she's home. She's where she needs to be. There was one final twist, which I will tell you about later. It might be meaningful down the road and it is mingling my relief with a sense of disquiet. But she's home. Thank God.

🚨 HOLY CRAP! Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent just stunned the world: ANY DAMAGE Iran does to the Gulf nations will now be repaired using IRANIAN FUNDS seized by the US from Iranian accounts This man is legitimately an economic assassin...NOBODY wants to be on his bad side! "Any damage it inflicts on our allies in the Gulf will be paid for with funds extracted from Iranian Accounts. Any tolls paid to the Persian Gulf Strait Authority will be offset by funds extracted from their accounts. Every attack Iran launches will only deepen the economic and financial consequences it faces." 🔥🔥🔥

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Tens of thousands of Spencer Pratt voters are now receiving rejection letters from the county clerk saying that their ballots were not counted due to signature irregularities. Yet, Governor Gavin Newsom just passed legislation that would make it illegal for anyone conducting oversight, to contest signatures that they deemed fraudulent. Democrats allow ballots to be signed with an X, a -, or a 🙂 to pass and count, but all of a sudden, only Republican signatures are being flagged for irregularities, rejected, and not counted. 🤔 One of these California Republican voters said that his signature has been on file for over 20 years and there has never been an issue until he voted for Spencer Pratt. Nithya Ramen has beaten Spencer Pratt by less than 3000 votes. There are at least 18,000 Pratt voters who received this letter saying their votes were rejected.

If this order isn’t signed today, Lucy will spend at least another day in a cell. I spend yet another day in a courtroom. My sons will miss the final day of VBS - the one everyone has been looking forward to, with sprinklers, slip-and-slides, and squirt guns. And I won’t be able to attend my daughter’s ballet recital. This is a great deal of unnecessary hardship, especially since I’ve already signed the deal. Yet this entire ordeal - nearly two months now - has caused far too much avoidable suffering over an innocent incident that took place in my own yard and was over in seconds. I don’t blame malice. I blame procedural quirks, bureaucratic inefficiencies, and an overly heavy-handed government. It’s no wonder C.S. Lewis imagined the demon Screwtape disguised as a senior bureaucrat and Hell as a mundane, if gruesome, administrative system. #SaveLucy #SaveSnuggles
