Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in a BBC interview which he gave in 1955, disclosed what he believed to be the reason as to why the British left India.
He credits Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose & the Indian National Army, highlighting the fact that the British had lost trust in the armed forces.

When you get various versions of answers to one simple question, it's obvious to feel suspicious about it. Same goes with the witnesses who supports plane crash theory of Netaji's death mystery.
