Quick reminder that artists and promoters aren’t your friend even if you enjoy their product. Their financial interests also don’t align with yours, so don’t act upset or mad when you’re priced out. They don’t care about you, don’t act like they do.

The whole “if the USA’s best athletes played soccer, we’d be the best in the world” take is perhaps the biggest example of missing the point I’ve ever seen in the sports world.

Exactly. New Orleans and Vegas would’ve been perfect. Maybe a few games in Baton Rouge.
This is also why New Orleans backed the fuck out immediately after the first meeting with FIFA 😂

I’ve spent a lot of time in various countries around the world and Mexico has to be the easiest to buy drugs in. Without a doubt. Doesn’t matter where you are.

The best American women choose soccer and they’re the best women’s team in history.

This needs to be talked about more. I think an auxiliary form of income for the venues would be charging people (influencers) to film, take pictures etc.

Everyone complaining about high ticket prices at events should be blaming influencers. Instead of only having the real fans go, you're now competing for tickets with people (influencers) who make money from going. Sucks

I mean I’m trying. What skills do other countries men have that we don’t that makes them excel at soccer? We’re the most diverse country on the earth with the best athletes. I’m just curious. I wrote out my thesis let’s see yours.

I would say American football players are better athletes than the average American soccer player but I’m not an expert in that. I try to stay away from opinions and stick to facts with some rational basis. America dominates the Olympics based on pure numbers and our access to the best training etc. I think if soccer was treated the same way at middle school, high school level etc as American football is then we would dominate. My opinion. No way to prove or disprove 🤷‍♂️😂

I think people aren't aware that we Americans don't really care about soccer/ football and many didn't even know we were hosting FIFA🤣. We are more focused on high gas prices, rent prices, food being contaminated and recalled every other day. And just trying not to die tbh.

The only reason why the US doesn’t win every World Cup is because our best athletes choose football, baseball, basketball, and hockey over soccer It’s like we are sending our 5th string up against everyone else’s best

It’s a poor sport playing in the most affluent country in the world. We have better sports and better things to do.
Alarming? It’s not a sport America cares about. We have other sports. America doesn’t care about the Vegas Golden Jacks and Carolina Panthers playing for the Stanley Cup right now. (I’d like to know what percentage of people in Europe know if those names are real or fake.)

Do you think there’s a correlation between the growth of soccer and US immigration policies? I would bet big money those 2 sets of data overlayed look very similar.

and then the competent city leaders of LA agreed to let the city get raped
One of my favorite anecdotes from the build-up to this World Cup, which reveals so much about the collision between FIFA and U.S. cities. The day a FIFA exec told Los Angeles that LA needed to be “put on the map.” @TheAthleticFC

Post below is pretty spot on. Furthermore, kicking a ball around on the ground is the definition of poverty activity and something most of us don’t consider “sport.” Enjoy your vacation here but realize we don’t give a fuck about the “world” sport. We have sports here like hockey, basketball, and baseball that cost money and infrastructure to play. And are much more exciting sports.
Dear Europeans, while you are closely following the World Cup realize most Americans are watching the NBA Finals, baseball and preparing for fantasy football (NFL). We will turn our attention to soccer if our boys make a run. We will also act like we are huge fans and laugh if we beat you. However, if we lose at any point, we won’t think twice about it. We do hope all that traveled here has a great time and gets to experience our beautiful land.

Our best athletes will never grow up to be soccer players. If they were we would win everything like we do in the Olympics.
