I've noticed this mindset is quite common in the campaign consulting world. Interestingly, I've observed the Republican side tends to adapt their methods more quickly. Ironically, they often have a better grasp of minority micro-targeting than we do, not just using the right language but even tailoring it to the specific dialect of that language.
