Today we honor the life and legacy of Beatrice “Bea” Lumpkin — CTU member, educator, labor organizer, and steadfast advocate for working people. For more than a century, Bea dedicated herself to building a stronger labor movement and a more just world, standing alongside generations of organizers in struggles for workers’ rights, civil rights, public education, and environmental justice.
From organizing on factory floors as a teenager to remaining active in CTU’s Climate Justice Committee in her later years, Bea led with conviction, courage, and an unwavering belief in collective action. We mourn her passing and extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and comrades. May her memory continue to inspire us in the work ahead.
