Justin Allgaier was asked in his media session if he's seen the Dale Jr Download take on whether or not he's a Hall of Famer. "I did, unfortunately." Allgaier agrees that the Hall of Fame is for NASCAR as a whole and not just the Cup Series, but "I don't know that I've done anything that warrants going into the Hall of Fame at this point." That said, he did acknowledge it was cool that Dale Earnhardt Jr. put the question of if that's a possibility out there. He also thinks there are certain people who have contributed to NASCAR from the grassroots level and beyond who have contributed to the sport immensely. He admitted he disliked Travis Rockhold's take and thought it was discounting that "in a way that was disappointing from my end."

Dale Earnhardt Jr. said producer @TravisRockhold 's viral take on Justin Allgaier/non-Cup drivers' HoF worthiness wasn't in the DJD show notes. "I know a lot of people thought that we drummed up that conversation to try to get all the clicks, but sometimes that stuff just happens." Dale then went into a little more detail on what he was discussing in regards to NASCAR Hall of Fame voting, and also his own thoughts on how if winning another 6-10 more races and another championship gets Allgaier to the fringe of Hall of Fame candidacy - a tough place to be since the upcoming candidacy of likely first-ballot HoFers (Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr., etc.) keeps some worthy names waiting on the ballot. Dale also said he called Travis multiple times throughout the week to commend him for sticking to his take and his honest assessment. "It was a fun conversation to have. Sometimes I'm nervous to have those because it can get a little tough or uncomfortable, but that makes for good podcasting. And it's fun to have conversations that can spark good debate."

That's the problem with the NASCAR Hall of Fame. To much Cup related drivers/ owners in there now. There needs to be more overall NASCAR related members. For example - how the hell is Larry Phillips not in the Hall of Fame yet.
