Welcome home Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy! 🫶
The Artemis II astronauts have splashed down at 8:07pm ET (0007 UTC April 11), bringing their historic 10-day mission around the Moon to an end.
Salute to the crew of #NASAArtemisII. As Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen poignantly said, future generations are challenged “to make sure this record is not long lived.” @NASA@csa_asc#ArtemisII
A new milestone for humankind: The crew of Artemis II are now the farthest any human has ever travelled, reaching a maximum distance of 252,752 miles from Earth.
This surpasses the previous record set by Apollo 13 in 1970 by about 4,102 miles.
One of my earliest memories as a child was watching an Apollo mission launch, sending its crew to the moon. 50 years later, I’m watching the crew of @NASAArtemis Artemis II as they launch for a return to the moon. Godspeed to #ArtemisII and safe journeys! #NASA#NASAArtemis
We're going around the Moon. Come watch with us. Artemis II's four-astronaut crew is lifting off from @NASAKennedy on an approximately 10-day mission that will bring us closer to living on the Moon and Mars. The launch window opens at 6:24pm ET (2224 UTC). x.com/i/broadcasts/1jxXgeyMk…
