Personally wish they titled the tour Al & Ged's Summer Adventure or An Evening of Rush Music. As VICTOR and HEADACHE proved, they needed Peart's thumb on the scale for it to reach Rush-quality. Not mad at them, but sad its different than it used to be. Hoping shows are good.

This tour will be hard in itself, for the fans, the band. A tribute to Neil and their work. My heart sank a little about bringing a keyboardist. I get it. I hold Getty Lee on such a high pedestal for his abilities it’s just hard a reality “we are only immortal for a limited time”

Exactly. Drummers are one of the hardest to replace, specially drummers who are unique and have a signature sound. Changes the whole feel of the music.

My honest opinion. Neil Peart wasn’t just the drummer in Rush. The dude was the engine, the professor, the lyricist, and the human metronome all rolled into one Canadian wizard with a drum kit the size of a fucking studio apartment! Geddy and Alex have absolutely earned the right to play music together again. Nobody should expect those guys to sit in rocking chairs waiting for reruns of humanity to disappoint them. But calling it RUSH without Neil would feel like calling Van Halen “Van Halen” without Eddie. Technically possible, spiritually weird. Celebrate the legacy. Celebrate the friendship. But Neil Peart WAS a massive piece of the soul of Rush! Rock on!🤘🏻

Very torn on this. I know Neil was not the first drummer. And I really like the first album. But the Rush I grew up with was Lee, Lifeson & Peart. I would have rather them gone on tour as Lee & Lifeson with special guest Anika Nilles.

It's a different Rush. And the "new" Rush doesn't take anything away from the legend that was the classic line-up. So far as I am concerned, I'd LOVE for them to write new music with Anika Nilles. I'd like to see where they go when Anika has creative freedom.

Of course it is Rush, it's just not Rush MK II. Lot's of bands have multiple incarnations, often without notable members. I'm in double figures on Who gigs but only one featured Keith Moon.

Good for them. If they want to get back out on the road, go for it! But I saw them a couple of times in the 80s. I'm not interested in paying $1000 to see them w/o Peart.
