Marcelo de Jesus Reyes was a 22-year-old migrant from Veracruz who passed away attempting to cross the SD/TJ border. He suffered a heart attack while and the person who was guiding him was able to communicate with his family. Border Patrol was able to recover the body days later.

Edson Armando Ramirez Medina was a 28-year-old migrant from Nayarit Mexico. He wanted to build a better future, so he decided to migrate to Tijuana, cross the border and join his aunt in Los Angeles to work. Unfortunately, Edson tragically lost his life while attempting to cross.

Dropping by to share some exciting news: We freed another asylum-seeker from Peru! Esteban is the 119th recipient of our Familias Reunidas Bond Fund Program. He was fleeing persecution in his home country and has now been reunited with his family thanks to all of your donations!

We freed another asylum-seeker from Peru! Rafael is the 118th recipient of our Familias Reunidas Bond Fund Program. He was in the Imperial Regional Detention Center for two months. Rafael is 21-years-old, and will now start his new life in New Jersey.
