This is a very niche tweet, but three people this week have asked me how to sort, arrange, and *index* records, and I keep saying "Do not do this, these acts are forbidden" so I ported my answer to PPT, for gravitas

It felt a little weird packing and taping up boxes for shipment from a strip mall parking lot, but it got done 📦📦📦 Records of La Jicarita churches cluster, Westminster Santa Fe, Peñasco, and a bound volume of the IPNM house organ El Faro, from 1884-1886ish on the way

Uma igreja cheia daquela austeridade que os presbiterianos gostam, mas com utensílios que ainda lembram uma igreja: púlpito, mesa, pia, cruz, vela...

One YAAD explaining how ENV-02, categorical divestment from fossil fuels, passed with 65%, got reconsidered and overturned by 3% "Let's not make an idol of our process" "Don't confuse procedure for prayer". The PC(USA) has $300M in fossils across the various investment bodies

Not here much, chiefly because any time I go looking for "Presbyterian" content, I get fascist Catholic convert accounts. Forget this place

Had a really productive trip to Puerto Rico last week, all thanks to Rvda. Blanqui, Rvda. Danilie, church sexton Manuel & all our friends. We took 10 oral histories with ordained women, and I did some triage of records of the Sinodo Boriquen in deep storage

Every once in a while something I sent into the world matters to people, what a thing

Shout out to @BoxReceiver, @yayfreire, and @Librarians2Pal for the work they've done around this, which provided a lot of valuable guidance for my research process. Read their work!

For what it's worth my 2022 SAA talk was by intention conservative, I want everybody in our field to just know the lay of the land

Another thing I've learned is attention spans, even for world-historical crises, are short, and being available long-term is hard, if you're Palestine-adjacent get with @Librarians2Pal

Um livro indispensável pra entender como a Igreja Presbiteriana apoiou a Golpe e a Ditadura Militar.

Interesting, I thought something new had happened, but Elliott Abrams is just addled about the ICC threatening Americans. The ICC post that Abrams cites came out May 3, in response to the Republicans' letter of April 24. Not this week. cfr.org/blog/international-c…

If I were a Senator, I'd try not to catch an incitement to genocide charge, just personally speaking. 18 USC 1091 says Sen. Cotton's tweet from October about Gaza is worth 5 years federal time.

.@ALALibrary It's time for librarians to join the academic, cultural, and economic boycott of Israel
Exclusive: Israeli soldiers set fire Aqsa University [@AqsaUniversity]’s library in Gaza City and took pictures of themselves in front of the flames.

None of that means squat without a meaningful position / actions on Gaza. Those are buzzwords
“If we want SAA to retain and increase its relevance...we must increase our efforts towards collaboration, inclusivity, and trust building to ensure the ‘we’ is considered.” Read SAA President Helen Wong Smith’s recent column in #ArchivalOutlook. ow.ly/jPH650QzpJU

SAA can at minimum acknowledge the six martyred information workers we know of (even if that's a small portion of the 30,000 martyred Palestinians) librarianswithpalestine.org/…
