The current PGA Championship leader. Could this be the Fairleigh Dickinson over Purdue of golf?

MARCH MADNESS! Duke exits the tournament for a 2nd straight season on the wrong end of yet another improbable finish. Despite staring down a 15 point halftime deficit, UConn stormed back to take the last spot in the Final Four, on the back of a late steal and DEEP 3 by Mullins.

The first 1 seed goes down! After blowing a 12 point lead Iowa could’ve let Florida run away with it, but the Hawkeyes managed to hang around until the end and pulled off the upset with a late Folgueiras three. Iowa will take on Nebraska next for a trip to the Elite 8.

The buzzer is finally beaten! Despite letting KU come back from a deficit that was once as large as 14, St. John’s still had one last chance to seal victory, and Darling took it to the rack as the clock hit zeros to do just that. Red Storm on to their 1st Sweet 16 under Pitino.

GAME OF THE TOURNAMENT?? Nebraska beats Vanderbilt in a back and forth classic, and after winning their first ever tournament game, win another for a trip to the Sweet 16! And Vandy nearly even stole it at the end with a half court heave that was half way down.

Once again, a First Four team is heading to the Sweet 16! Texas finished both halves by shooting lights out and took down Gonzaga. A bubble SEC team may not be a typical Cinderella, but the slipper fits for the Longhorns nonetheless!

Kentucky over Santa Clara in another tourney classic! After the Broncos took a late lead on a Graves 3, Oweh answered for the Wildcats with a DEEP buzzer beating 3 to force OT. UK went on to win in overtime on the back of some clutch blocks by Brandon Garrison. What a game. 🔥

VCU COMES BACK! The 11th seeded Rams storm back from 19 down to knock off 6 seed North Carolina in an overtime classic! Cinderella? Maybe. But VCU is also just a legitimately very good team.

High Point… but they’re Cinderella! The Panthers knock off the Badgers in the first major upset of the tournament! March. 🔥

Ohio State at the buzzer!! Misses a half court shot. But still an awesome game to tip off the tournament.

Less than one hour from the madness! One word of advice, stick with your current bracket. I’m gonna tinker and make like 6 last second changes and they’ll probably all be wrong. Also, root for upsets! Who cares if I have a certain 2 seed in the Final Four, if they’re down to a 15 seed late then go 15 seed.

Great projection this year! Only 6 misses of teams swapped by 1 seed, and half of them I could’ve had the other way around too had I known the committee was going to factor in the Friday-Sunday games as much as they did! 🏀Purdue over Michigan State. Clearly the committee credited the Boilermakers for the win over Michigan today, they do have a better resume than the Spartans now with it, so it’s deserved! 🏀Virginia over Nebraska. UVA’s run in the ACC tournament and Nebraska losing back on Friday big to Purdue allowed the Cavs to jump the Cornhuskers. In past years this wouldn’t have been the case. Once again, deserved! 🏀Arkansas over Vandy. Like Purdue, the committee actually factored in today’s win. Absolutely deserved for the Razorbacks! First small gripe though is that if these tourney games meant more this season, then they both should’ve been 4s after Vandy rolled Florida. Bump Bama or Kansas down to a 5 instead. 🏀Villanova over Utah State. UGH. The one change I actually did make based on a weekend game was the one the committee didn’t?! Lol, I had Utah St. below Nova before the Aggies won yesterday. No gripe here though besides general annoyance, since they play each other in the first round anyway. 🏀Missouri over NC State. This is an interesting one. The Tigers got a bye while the Wolfpack are in a play-in game. Very similar resumes, Mizzou though had better top end wins and NC State had a bad loss. This seems to have been enough to make up for the metric gap between the two, which does make sense as resume tends to outweigh metrics closer to the bubble. Not sure I would’ve flipped them around, but it makes complete sense! 🏀Troy over North Dakota State. This is simply a case of rewarding Troy for having good wins. Troy has a Q1 win and 2 Q2 wins! NDSU has no such wins. Outside of those wins Troy’s resume is clearly worse, so I didn’t think they would be enough to swap them, but not mad about it! Mid-majors should absolutely be rewarded for having quality wins.

New and likely final seed list after last night’s and this morning’s title games! Only thing that could likely change would be Wichita State taking USF’s spot as an 11 if they came back. And of course, thanks one more time to @CBKReport for all the awesome graphics this season!

There is of course also the possibility that the committee has a contingency bracket that could push Purdue to a 2 seed with a win here, and/or swap Michigan and Arizona, but at the time being I’m leaning towards keeping it put.

Notable Friday evening results! 🏀Utah State downed San Diego State to win the Mountain West championship. This likely makes the MWC a 1-bid league, but could move the Aggies up to an 8 seed. The 8/9 cutline is a cluster. 🏀Arizona held off a late Houston surge to win the Big 12 tournament. The Wildcats will be a 1 seed tomorrow, while the Cougars likely missed a chance to nab a 1 seed themselves. 🏀UConn likely missed a chance to steal the last 1 seed as well, getting rocked by St. John’s in the Big East final. Could the Red Storm get a top 4 seed? Maybe. But this win also may have simply been too late. 🏀Akron rallied back to win a classic over Toledo in the MAC championship. The Zips should be an 11 or 12 seed. 🏀Duke squeaked past Virginia in a fantastic ACC title game, which should lock them in at #1 overall. Great performance by UVA, who could’ve been a clear 3 seed with a win, but now could be a 3 or a 4. 🏀Kennesaw State took down LA Tech in the CUSA final, which will cause a bit of the shakeup in the bottom of the seed list. The Bulldogs were a projected 16 seed, but the Owls will likely get a 14 or 15. 🏀Prairie View upset Southern in the SWAC championship and and should be heading to Dayton as a 16 seed.

Key early Saturday results! 🏀Vanderbilt rolled Florida in an SEC semifinal upset. The win should lock the Commodores into a top 4 seed, while the Gators leave the door open to get passed for the final 1 seed. 🏀Michigan hit a late game winner to take down Wisconsin in the Big Ten semis, and stay in the hunt for #1 overall. The Badgers missed a chance to lock themselves into a 5 seed, but may hold on to it anyway with the close loss. 🏀Dayton stunned Saint Louis in a wild A-10 semi. The Billikens are still safely in the field, but could potentially drop to a double digit seed with the loss. The Flyers are now one win away from stealing a bid. 🏀Purdue held off UCLA to reach the Big Ten championship, and likely locked up a 3 seed at worst. Bruins put up a good fight, but could potentially wind up back in an 8/9 game now. A 7 is still possible though. 🏀Arkansas survived in OT and finally ended the improbable Ole Miss run, shutting the door on a potential bid thief. Razorbacks remain in the hunt for a top 4 seed. 🏀VCU dominated Saint Joseph’s to reach the A-10 title game. Good chance the Rams are in regardless, but I’d still strongly advise them to win tomorrow. 🏀UMBC took down Vermont to clinch the America East title. The Retrievers will likely be looking for another 16-1 upset, but slim chance they nab a 15. 🏀Howard beat NC Central to earn the MEAC AQ. Like UMBC the Bison are likely a 16 seed, but also have a slight possibility at getting a 15. (Essentially the 15/16 cut line is messy.)

Seed list heading into a stacked Saturday slate full of semis and finals! Several areas very close, low 7s-high 9s for example, plus the last few teams in (crucial if there’s a bid thief). Questions? Ask away! Thanks again to @CBKReport for making my list such a great graphic.

Notable Friday night results! 🏀Purdue rolled past Nebraska in the Big Ten quarters to likely lock up being a 3 seed at worst. Cornhuskers could hold on to a 3 as well, but a 4 is now possible. 🏀Arizona won late over Iowa State in the Big 12 semis in an absolute classic of a game. Wildcats still chasing #1 overall, while the Cyclones missed a chance to become a lock for a 2, but could still get it anyways. 🏀Virginia rolled past Miami in the ACC semis to remain in the hunt for a 3 seed. Hurricanes will likely be a 6 or 7. 🏀Ole Miss stunned Bama to keep their Cinderella SEC tournament run alive and reach the semis. Likely a missed opportunity for the Tide to grab a 3 seed, while the Rebs are now 2 wins away from stealing a bid. 🏀UCLA upset Michigan State in the Big Ten quarters which may lift the Bruins above the 8/9 games. Spartans now at risk of dropping to a 3. 🏀Duke took down Clemson to set up an ACC final against Virginia. Blue Devils remain #1 overall, while the Tigers will likely end up being a 7 or 8 seed. 🏀Houston blitzed past Kansas to reach the Big 12 title game and keep their slim hopes of a 1 seed alive. Jayhawks miss a chance to move up to a 3 seed. 🏀Arkansas fought off Oklahoma in the SEC quarterfinals and stay in the hunt for a top 4 seed. OU’s late push for an at-large may have fallen just short.
