$CRR’s solid-state battery update is more than a lab milestone.
CRR has now deposited the cathode, solid-state electrolyte and carbon-nanotube conductor in one dry, room-temperature step, with no solvents, binders or furnaces.
The NASA link is the interesting part. NASA EPSCoR previously supported South Dakota School of Mines research into high-performance lithium-ion batteries for NASA space applications, where Dr Alla Smirnova was listed as Science PI.
Dr Alevtina Smirnova is also the technical advisor reviewing CRR’s current solid-state battery program.
Defence, aerospace, satellites, data centres and solvent-free battery manufacturing are now being tied into one CRR story.
