From one of Doge Georgia’s followers about their voting experience in Georgia:
“Today, I went to vote with my wife. I’m Black, and she’s White. We entered the polling place together. First, we had to fill out a form with our name, address, and party choice—we selected Republican. After handing in that form, we were supposed to fill out our ballot. My wife went first, so she started filling out the ballot right away. But as I handed in my form, there was a sudden shift—everyone’s attention turned to me. One of the staff seemed startled and loudly pointed me out as a Republican. I thought voting should be private, so that really concerned me. After that, I didn’t follow the same process as my wife. Instead of filling out the ballot on paper, they moved me to a machine. I’ve used the machine before, but this time it felt off—like they were rushing me. Then they brought out a strange emergency code paper and told another worker to input it. I asked what was happening, and they just said they were moving the ballot to the machine. I didn’t fully understand, but it felt rushed and unusual. It wasn’t the normal, smooth process I’m used to. Usually, you just give your info, fill out your ballot, and leave. This time, though, it was all different, and I just want some answers”
