A male Brown Basilisk lizard poses confidently for a picture. Basilisks have the ability to run on water to evade predators. This individual was the dominant male in the area and was not deterred as Mario took pictures.

In Miami Beach, Mario encountered this curious Sandhill Crane that appeared to be habituated to people. Standing close to 4ft tall, this elegant bird approached Mario as he sat on the ground with his camera in hand. 📸

One of Mario's favorite amphibians to photograph in the tropics are poison dart #frogs. One of the best ways to find these tiny frogs in dense vegetation is to listen for their distinct calls and pinpoint the location of the sound.
