I was in Tampa earlier today speaking with Republican voters, and I couldn't ignore the fact that Byron Donalds and Jay Collins are using taxpayer dollars to bankroll their campaigns. Floridians are working harder than ever just to keep up with rising costs. The last thing they need is politicians reaching into their pockets to fund political campaigns they may not even support. That's exactly what Byron and Jay are doing.

FWIW - Renner was House speaker when the Legislature asked voters to repeal the state's public financing program. The amendment - the 2nd time the GOP has tried to kill the program - was defeated. Roughly 50 percent voted for it - far short of the 60 percent needed for passage

Floridians: Do you remember the first time you looked at Ron DeSantis and said, that man is going to change hearts and minds and make a real difference? For me, it was during Covid when he totally flipped the script on how the state would be run during the pandemic. Tonight, I got to hear Paul Renner in person for the first time. Just like with Governor DeSantis, I was already sold on the guy. But something unique happened. He walked into the Lying Byron’s den of over 200 people. Most of the people in my club are Fox News over 65 crowd. They thought they knew who they were voting for. Then this humble yet straight forward man began to speak. He shared where he came from and who he is. He shared what he had already accomplished. He shared his vision with specific details that made you aware that these were not slogans to him but well thought out plans. He was positive about the future yet noted the differences between him and the other candidates. None of this was new to me, because I had researched him thoroughly. All of this was new to my fellow club members and neighbors. Then he opened up the question-and-answer time. No preprepared cards, just people concerned about our fast-growing state, data centers, water and natural resources. And that is when it happened. Person after person got up and said they had changed their minds because of this meeting. That is not a small task. As we have seen with the straw polls, once you really listen to Paul Renner, overwhelmingly your heart and mind are changed. I saw it with my own two eyes tonight. If you are still undecided or maybe think you know who to vote for but are still open minded, get yourself to a Paul Renner meeting. He will change your heart and mind.

You can’t seriously tell me that a hyperscale data center won’t drive up electric bills for Florida families. These facilities consume enormous amounts of power, and Floridians will be on the hook for them.

Great to be at the Florida Parent Educators Association Convention earlier today. Yesterday, I launched Parents for Renner because parents, not bureaucrats, know what’s best for their children. As Governor, I’ll continue fighting to protect parents’ rights, just as I did during my time as Speaker of the Florida House.

It was an honor to catch up with Commissioner Rene Garcia, and hero Felix Rodriguez, former CIA that led the 1967 CIA-advised Bolivian mission resulting in the capture and execution of Che Guevara. What an amazing story of resilience and courage.
