Gov. DeSantis says @EvanPower is “insulting the intelligence” of GOP voters in Florida
The chairman of the party should not be insulting the intelligence of Republican voters. A debate was promised and these ridiculous criteria are being used to renege on that promise and to engineer a preferred outcome. Why not just take 90 minutes, find a tv partner, and let the candidates mix it up? The only reason why you wouldn’t is if the party hierarchy is serving outside interests instead of the best interests of the voters.

"It's counterproductive when you try to engineer and outcome," DeSantis said. He said it may be a "tough cycle" for Republicans so "having an open process" would be in the "best interest of Republican voters."

Anthony Sabatini won't be running for Congress
CAMPAIGN UPDATE: While it would’ve been an honor to serve our great community in Congress, today I’m withdrawing from the race for FL-11. I based my decision on 2 reasons. First, qualifying to run for Congress would require me to immediately resign from the Lake County Commission. It would be irresponsible to do so because there’s too much on the line for Lake County—my seat would likely be given to a corrupt political insider who will vote to drown Lake County with overdevelopment & do nothing to advance true conservative policy. We filed a lawsuit to strike down the unconstitutional “resign to run” law but unfortunately it was too late for a challenge to be fully heard & decided on the merits before the qualifying date. Second, our district needs a great leader from Lake County to be our Representative; Carey Baker & I would’ve split too many votes within our home of Lake County to be competitive in the larger primary race. We have not had a true Lake County leader represent our district in Congress since Syd Herlong in the 1960s. Therefore I’m asking all of my supporters to get behind Carey Baker for US Congress—one of the few truly honest & principled people I’ve worked with in government. Thank you to all of my patriotic supporters & friends who helped us along the way & knocked on thousands of doors. I will continue to fight for our County, State and Nation—this is not the end, but only the beginning—stay tuned

Fla Attorney General James Uthmeier - who was appointed to his post last year by Gov. DeSantis - with some numbers about his time on the job. (FWIW - the previous attorney general was @AshleyMoodyFL, who is now a U.S. Senator)
Since I took office as Attorney General: ✅ Statewide prosecutions up over 50% ✅ Criminal convictions up nearly 40% ✅ Human trafficking convictions up over 30% ✅ Record $1 billion recovered for Florida consumers ✅ Record 1700 child predators arrested I love this job!

Just a few hours left before the 26 ballot is set ... and right now @MaxwellFrostFL does not have a qualified opponent. If this stands he would be the lone incumbent member of Congress from Florida to win another term today.

Qualification deadline is noon for #FlaPol Congressional, Senate, House seats but that doesn't mean what's on the Division of Elections site at noon is final. Lots to process and Congressional quali deadlines being moved to June are factors. Will take a while, in short.

More from Paul Renner on the decision by @ByronDonalds & @JayCollinsFL to request public financing to help with their campaigns
I was in Tampa earlier today speaking with Republican voters, and I couldn't ignore the fact that Byron Donalds and Jay Collins are using taxpayer dollars to bankroll their campaigns. Floridians are working harder than ever just to keep up with rising costs. The last thing they need is politicians reaching into their pockets to fund political campaigns they may not even support. That's exactly what Byron and Jay are doing.

Rep. Randy Fine on the RPOF event scheduled for later this month in S. Fla. His decision comes after the party anounced that James Fishback will be appearing at the gathering
I have cancelled my appearance at this event. If the @FloridaGop wants to host a Neo-Nazi rally, they will do it without me.

Lawsuit filed by a newly-formed non profit and two former local officials from Stuart and Key Biscayne ... The legal challenge, however, cannot stop the measure from making the ballot. It can lead to changes being made to the wording ...

If a court finds the ballot statements "defective" then the state's attorney general is allowed to make changes to the measure. This is due to a legislative change from 2011 that came after several amendments proposed by Fl Leg had been blocked.
