Why does any law firm not build @BriefCatch into its AI-usage policy? I’m meeting with a firm next week to discus ethics rules and AI usage. This is a no-brainer.
On April 9, an AmLaw 10 firm filed a motion in a $8.7B bankruptcy case. It contained an AI hallucination: a fabricated quote from a Second Circuit case. The firm self-reported it 9 days later. BriefCatch's RealityCheck™ would have caught it in 30 seconds. @JosephPatrice @atlblog @bobambrogi @midpageAI #legaltech 🧵

I think the new feature on BriefCatch is quicker and cleaner. I do cite checks all the time too, and you’re right—it’s insane not to do that. At some point, the error rate might be low enough that you wouldn’t need to. But present ethics rules and error rates don’t allow that.
