Today's reading is Genesis 17-19.
Yah commanded Abram, who He renamed Abraham, to be perfect. He reestablished His covenant with Abraham and commanded the circumcision. Yah also revealed to Abraham for the first time that Sarah would be the mother to his seed of the promise. This is interesting because had this been revealed before, the whole Hagar situation would have been avoided. It is important to watch how God moves and when He shows Himself or reveals information in His wisdom. You will see how much patience He requires. Remember this for your own lives. The everlasting covenant of the circumcision is really about Yahushua who was born and circumcised on the eighth day (Luke 2:21). He qualified for the covenant and through His sacrifice, He extends the covenant to all of us who will obey Him.
Notice Yah appeared visually to Abraham as a man with two other people with him (two angels). It is interesting to see when Yah takes a physical appearance when dealing with people. Sarah and Abraham both laughed at the thought that they would have a child in their old age.
Yah looked ahead in the future and considered how Abraham would be obedient and teach his descendants the right things. Because of Abraham's future faithfulness, Yah counted it to him as righteousness (Romans 4:3). For that reason He shared His plans with Abraham. Yah was going to judge Sodom and Gomorrah, but Yah always reveals His judgment to a prophet prior to enacting it (Amos 3:7). Abraham sort of haggles with God trying to save Lot from the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah which only proved that there were not even 10 righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah.
When Lot saw the two angels (who were the two men who appeared with God to Abraham), he invited them in. The door, which represents Yahushua, was shut and those men outside who sinned and looked to homosexuality, were struck with blindness and not able to find the door (John 10:9). Lot's son in laws and daughters married to them did not join him but his two virgin daughters that he offered to the wicked men did join him. It should be noted that later in the law, this is made illegal by the hand of Moses.
Lot escapes but his wife looks back, disobeying the commandment, just as Yahushua said those who look back are not worthy of the kingdom (Luke 9:62). At first Lot wanted to go to Zoar instead of the mountain but after seeing the level of destruction so close to him in Sodom and Gomorrah he changed his mind and went to the mountain just as the angels originally commanded. They dwelt in a cave just as people will do during the events of Revelation when stars fall out of the sky (Revelation 6:15-17).
The daughters, believing that there was not anyone left to marry them anymore after they saw all the destruction, devised a plan to bring forth their children. For context, the commandment from God from the beginning was to multiply and have children. Having children was the glory of women and the duty of men (Psalm 127:3-5). At this point, we know that incest would have been necessary for Adam and Eve's children to populate the world but up to this point there was no instruction from God that told people not to have incest. This later becomes a law by the hand of Moses. It's very possible the daughters thought they were doing themselves and their father a favor by repopulating the world. The names of the sons were "of his father" (Moab) and "son of my people" (Ben-Ammi/Ammon).
