😢 A tearful Noa-Lynn Van Leuven has announced her "retirement" after revealing a DRA ruling banning transgender players from women's darts events. "I just got an email, apparently I just got retired. Not by choice but because I am longer allowed to compete, the DRA decided that trans women are no longer allowed in women's events." "With just one decision, I am being told I don't belong anymore. This isn't just about me, it's another huge hit for the trans community." #Darts | Via Noa-Lynn Van Leuven Instagram

Concerning new documents out for YongeTOmorrow that seems much less focused on pedestrianization. The project originally envisioned having portions of Yonge between College and Queen be at least partially pedestrianized.

As of yesterday, Ontario is out of compliance with the Canada Health Act because Doug Ford's government missed the federal deadline to fund nurse practitioners. Now Ontarians are being forced to pay out of pocket for primary care. 2.5 million people don't have a family doctor, and this Minister has no plan to fix it.

Avi Lewis: "We can already hear the howls from the establishment -- 'but how will you pay for all this?' ... It is time, far past time, to properly tax the corporations and billionaires that have been riding a tidal wave of profits while the 99% have been suffering and struggling."

From the Saskatchewan NDP to the newly elected Avi Lewis "The positions you have taken when it comes to Natural resource development are ideological and unrealistic ... I will meet with you (When you publicly reverse your position on these issues)"

Most of America’s affordability crisis and car dependence come from the same source: locally dominant land-use rules that block enough homes in accessible places.

Something we all know to be true: companies socialize costs and privatize profit.
Awesome bit of data that makes intuitive sense. ā€œFinland cut VAT on haircuts in 2007 to see if cheaper prices would boost demand and jobs. But when the tax fell by €4, many salons lowered prices by only €2 and kept the rest as profit. When VAT rose again, prices jumped by the full €4, turning a temporary tax cut into a permanent price hike. It’s tax incidence in action: firms with pricing power pass on cuts partly, and hikes fully.ā€ Source: buff.ly/9vkSfvn

ā€œThe unexpected beneficiaries who reclaimed the most travel time were suburban drivers.ā€œ Read this and weep, Toronto. Our traffic woes are solvable with relatively simple policy changes that just take…political will and Provincial coordination. Congestion Pricing is a simple, proven, conservative principle of traffic management. Unfortunately it’s not a Big Shiny Thing - just a real solution that doesn’t cost anything and even generates revenue.
