As I'm considering whether or not I have a future on this platform, I thought prospective PhD students might want to look at this tremendous opportunity! opticalbiology.org/apply

What's the corticospinal tract all about anyway, other than a misleading name? How did it change in evolution? The strengths of comparative neurobiology are shown in the excellent work from the Tuszynski lab, 2 clicks from here! facultyopinions.com/prime/ar…

Sad news. A superb scientist, outstanding contributions to our understanding of the brain.
I just learnt of Philippe Ascher's death. He was the sweetest human being and a great mind. We met often over the last ten years and we always asked each other 'what are Renshaw cells for?' We still don't know, I wish you were still with us

New methods paper from my lab, more in print at @JNeurophysiol. A simple method, hopefully useful for many. We have already hosted several people who wanted to learn to record from mature spinal cord preps. Get in touch if you want to implement the method

New paper from the lab on BioRxiv. No hype, no overselling! It is just a simple methods paper, showing motoneuron recordings from semi intact, mature, spinal cord preparations, preserving afferent or efferent circuits. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
