World Cup ticket sales have been a disaster. FIFA held back tickets to create artificial scarcity, launched its own resale platform with a 15% fee for both buyers and sellers, and now there are still 180,000 tickets available for purchase. READ: huddleup.substack.com/p/how-…

In 2023, Indonesia were stripped of the under-20 World Cup for refusing to allow the Israeli team entry. Fifa's justification then was the vague "due to the current circumstances". Quite a contrast to the hardline "FIFA is not involved in host immigration processes" now.

Odsonne Édouard has made an incredibly selfless decision ahead of the 2026 World Cup 😮👏 Édouard is eligible to play for Haiti, who have qualified for the tournament for the first time since 1974, but has turned down a call-up as he hasn't represented the nation before 🇭🇹 🗣️ Speaking after he helped Lens win their first trophy since 1999, he said: "I wouldn't feel legitimate playing in the World Cup because there were players who fought to qualify and I wasn't going to show up at the last minute to take advantage. "Quite simply, if I'm going to play, I have to deserve it." 👊 It's every footballer's dream to play at the World Cup, but to look at it the way Édouard has is commendable 🙏
