This is a cool look at how SoFi Stadium prepared to host eight World Cup matches (including the USMNT’s first match on home soil in 32 years). They had to remove seats and suites and then built an entirely new natural grass field with irrigation and drainage on top of the turf.

It feels increasingly obvious that FIFA will keep hydration breaks for future World Cups regardless of the weather.
FIFA loves money and adding in commercial breaks is the easiest way to guarantee higher media rights fees.

All the people defending Brendan Sorsby by saying he never bet on his own team to lose seem to be overlooking the fact that he bet on unders for Indiana's passing yards and points scored while he was on the team. That is effectively the same thing as betting against your team.

This is the wildest World Cup story yet. If someone in Toronto sells a ticket above face value they get fined $25,000 yet the city of Toronto bought 3,500 World Cup tickets early and then sold them to taxpayers at a markup as a “revenue generation strategy.” What the hell man.

Monaco can’t expand into France so it started building floating districts on top of the Mediterranean Sea.
The most recent example is the 14-acre Mareterra district, which opened in 2024 and added ~3% to Monaco’s land area.
Apartments there reach $13,000 per square foot.

• First floating staircase in F1
• Designed and built in 13 months
The motorhome takes 21 trucks to transport, and Monaco had to demolish an elementary school to fit it.
