A professional sports gambler used analytics to turn a $700,000 loan into more than $300 million. This is the wild story 👇👇👇

They aren’t even hiding what these hydration breaks are about. It’s 75 degrees under a roof at SoFi, the announcer says “that’s the end of the first quarter,” and then it’s straight to commercials. The game is gone.

This is a cool look at how SoFi Stadium prepared to host eight World Cup matches (including the USMNT’s first match on home soil in 32 years). They had to remove seats and suites and then built an entirely new natural grass field with irrigation and drainage on top of the turf.

Love hearing nuggets like this...USMNT coach Mauricio Pochettino was only hired because hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin (and others) helped cover his salary worth several million dollars annually.

It feels increasingly obvious that FIFA will keep hydration breaks for future World Cups regardless of the weather. FIFA loves money and adding in commercial breaks is the easiest way to guarantee higher media rights fees. It's that simple.

World Cup ticket sales have been a disaster. FIFA held back tickets to create artificial scarcity, launched its own resale platform with a 15% fee for both buyers and sellers, and now there are still 180,000 tickets available for purchase. READ: huddleup.substack.com/p/how-…

All the people defending Brendan Sorsby by saying he never bet on his own team to lose seem to be overlooking the fact that he bet on unders for Indiana's passing yards and points scored while he was on the team. That is effectively the same thing as betting against your team.

This is the wildest World Cup story yet. If someone in Toronto sells a ticket above face value they get fined $25,000 yet the city of Toronto bought 3,500 World Cup tickets early and then sold them to taxpayers at a markup as a “revenue generation strategy.” What the hell man.
NEW: The City of Toronto says only a fraction of the 2026 FIFA World Cup tickets it bought as an investment remain unsold, with the soccer gamble looking set to pay off a week before the games begin. #ToPoli globalnews.ca/news/11891194/…

Monaco can’t expand into France so it started building floating districts on top of the Mediterranean Sea. The most recent example is the 14-acre Mareterra district, which opened in 2024 and added ~3% to Monaco’s land area. Apartments there reach $13,000 per square foot.

Everyone is talking about how it’s $10,000 to get into MSG for the NBA Finals. Not enough people are talking about how the Knicks publicly traded stock has outperformed pretty much everything outside of AI over the last year.

I don’t think you could possibly come closer without hitting the wall and the fact that they are consistently doing this at 85 mph makes it even crazier
