The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

Just tested Claude Fable 5's coding.
nobody's talking about this part:
i gave it one prompt — "build me a desktop OS in the browser." one shot, zero edits.
windows, 4 working apps, a full game. then it wrote its OWN test suite, ran 46 checks, and passed all of them before telling me it was done!!
we're past vibe coding. This is insane🤯

anthropic just dropped claude fable. mythos-class. publicly available.
they literally named it "fable."
a fable is a fiction. a made-up story. that's the name anthropic gave the public version of their most powerful model.
the real one — mythos — stays with governments and enterprises with $50M contracts.
we got the storybook. they kept the weapon.
and the most wild part? this is normal now. frontier AI public release means "the safe version we let you have." the actual frontier stays locked behind clearance.
we used to be the customer. now we're the demo.

7 days until anthropic destroys most AI agency margins.
june 15 they split claude usage into two pools — interactive chat stays subsidized, but anything programmatic (agent SDK, claude -p, github actions) gets billed at full API rates.
if your $500/mo retainers run workflows all day, your margin is about to flip negative.
3 things to do this week:
raise prices on every active client
move non-critical stuff to gemma 4 locally
cache aggressively
most agencies will sleepwalk through this and find out in july. the ones who move now keep their business.
