I’ve got a bike that hasn’t been used in about five years and is about to come out of retirement. Can anybody suggest a good bicycle establishment for a service in north London? Thank you

Restoring my faith in humanity
I'm reluctantly posting on X again because the world needs to read this. My daughter Zoe Rogers gave her own closing speech at the Filton trial, as did 4 other defendants, while their barristers looked on. This is what she said 🧵 1/

Today we announce a new policy: In order to deport all illegal migrants in Britain, Reform will need to detain tens of thousands at a time. Migrants will not be able to leave these detention centres, and each will be held there a couple of weeks before being deported. So here’s our promise: A Reform government will not put any migrant detention facilities in any constituency with a Reform MP. Nor will we put them where Reform controls the council. And of the remaining areas, we will prioritise Green controlled parliamentary constituencies and Green controlled councils to locate the detention centres. Put simply, if you vote in a Reform council or Reform MP, we guarantee you won’t have a detention centre near you. If you vote Green, there’s a good chance you will. This is an important exercise in democratic consent, not just for our mass deportation policy, but for where the detention centres are placed. Given @ZackPolanski openly advocates for open borders, I look forward to their warm embrace of this policy. votegreengetillegals.com

A new cricket season. A new #Playfair. NB At @HomeOfCricket watching Middlesex vs Gloucs rather than Cardiff (not) watching @YorkshireCCC vs Glamorgan for a variety of logistical reasons. Good to be watching cricket anyway, even if it is cold and dark and division two 🤣

Karl Marx: ❝The English worker hates the Irish worker as a competitor who lowers his standard of life. He regards himself as a part of the ruling nation & becomes a tool of the English capitalists against Ireland, thus strengthening their domination over himself. The English worker cherishes religious and social prejudices against the Irish worker. His attitude is the same as that of the poor whites to the blacks in the USA. This antagonism is artificially intensified by the press & all the means at the disposal of the ruling classes. The Irishman does the same and sees in the English worker only the accomplice of the English rulers. This antagonism is the secret of the impotence of the working class. It is the secret by which the capitalist class maintains its power. The alternative is class solidarity.❞

86 years ago today, Woody Guthrie penned “This Land Is Your Land” in response to Irving Berlin’s “God Bless America.” It was among the first songs to be chosen by the Library of Congress for inclusion in the National Recording Registry. Woody Guthrie had written “This machine k!lls fascists” on his guitar.

Who the fuck cares? Does anyone seriously believe traditional @UKLabour voters and activists can see any difference or improvement between Starmer and Streeting. These people have nothing to offer us or the country

1979-1980 with the election of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. Far Right Rupert Murdoch's privatisation puppets. Over the next 2 decades Western Government were dismantled and sold to billionaires. The damage you see is Public Services replaced with billionaires profits.
Can anyone pin-point the exact moment where everything in society just got substantially worse?
