A news brief appearing in the Indianapolis Daily Journal on July 8, 1865, describes the order given by Gen. Gordon Granger, upon taking command in Texas, which asserted that slavery was abolished in that place. His order was issued June 19, 1865.

Our fall newsletter detailed @IndyGoBus route changes in the neighborhood, including the 28 bus being rerouted down Boulevard Pl. it appears there was a change since that newsletter came out, and the 28 will remain on the Illinois routing.

As discussed at the BTNA meeting, the city is seeking to use funds in the Midtown TIF, which provides funding for projects throughout Midtown, including BT, to purchase/pay off the Broad Ripple Family Center in BR Park. This letter details BTNA's opposition to this proposal. 1/2
