Thank you to CBS Sunday Morning for covering the important topic of pedestrian safety and for traveling to Indianapolis to learn about my efforts as a member of the @IndyCouncil to make lasting improvements.
More than 7,500 pedestrians were killed by a vehicle in 2022, the highest number in 40 years. But experts say, more than the design of vehicles, the design of the roads themselves is to blame for the alarming rise in pedestrian fatalities. cbsn.ws/3PQnsAw

In the era of #ArtificialIntelligence, when human dignity is threatened by new forms of dehumanization, ours is the pressing duty to remain profoundly human. We must lovingly safeguard the grandeur of humanity bestowed upon us and revealed in its fullness in Christ, the splendor of which no machine can ever replace. #MagnificaHumanitas vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…

We are grateful to share that the IMPD officer who was shot yesterday while bravely serving our community was released from the hospital today. The officer was surrounded by fellow officers and dedicated medical staff who provided exceptional care and support throughout his recovery in the hospital. While the healing journey is just beginning, we remain incredibly proud of this officer and all of our officers for their courage, resilience, and steadfast commitment to the people of Indianapolis.

Lee Hamilton was a giant at home in Indiana and a deeply respected leader on the international stage. He embodied the best kind of Hoosier values with his principled, steady leadership across a remarkable career in public service. I was fortunate to know him and to learn from his example, one that is particularly instructive in these times. He will be greatly missed.
