More training needed..
I am so saddened to hear the very disturbing accounts of how hard it is for families to get treatment - "not motivated for treatment". Really...?? Come on services! This is a fundamental part of the illness.. and a basic fact...!!! Eatingdisorderinsights.com

I can’t believe there’s so much anti stigma work to try to get the general public to understand dif conditions eg eating disorders, yet when you go into MH or ED services you realise a significant proportion their own staff don’t have correct knowledge and understanding

Yep.. this is THE top priority in understanding needs..
The overlooked intervention: Listening with empathy and compassion. In being heard and understood, we find our edges, our value, our agency and our self-solidity. This should be our primary expertise, before risk assessment, before skills coaching, before behaviour modification.
