While walking his dog through Rochester Hills, CBP officer Botezan demonstrated commitment to the mission. He encountered a young boy, in distress, who had gotten separated from his friends while they were fishing. Officer Botezan provided comfort and assistance as he allowed the child to call his mother, and stayed with him until she arrived, witnessing a heartfelt reunion. Securing the nation is deeply connected to safeguarding the communities we serve. Thank you Officer Botezan, for your dedication in protecting the borders and the children within our communities.

This week, Air Interdiction Agents located a vessel carrying 240 migrants from Haiti attempting an illegal maritime migration. The overcrowded vessel was taking on water and in danger of sinking.
Our personnel helped prevent what could have been a catastrophic loss of life while stopping yet another illegal migration attempt.
The message remains clear: illegal maritime migration is dangerous, it is not worth the risk, and you will not gain entry into the US.
