Well it is about time!  Thank you! The border doesn't shut down when Washington plays politics. Cartels don't stop operating because Congress is playing politics. And Border Patrol agents don't stop showing up when democrats threaten the funding they depend on. This bill provides the resources, technology, and certainty needed to keep securing America's borders. A stronger Border Patrol means a more secure border. A more secure border means a safer America.

Outstanding work by @CBPAMO, @USCG, and our international partners.   This week, Air Interdiction Agents located a vessel carrying 240 migrants from Haiti attempting an illegal maritime migration. The overcrowded vessel was taking on water and in danger of sinking.   Our personnel helped prevent what could have been a catastrophic loss of life while stopping yet another illegal migration attempt.   The message remains clear: illegal maritime migration is dangerous, it is not worth the risk, and you will not gain entry into the US.

Today we signed The Customs Reform Executive Order, putting America First for trade enforcement. It protects domestic industry from unfair competition, holds bad actors accountable, and reinforces that economic security is national security.

Today, I’m proud to announce Rosario “Pete” Vasquez as the @USBPChief of the U.S. Border Patrol. Pete has dedicated more than 26 years to securing our Nation’s borders and serving the men and women of the Border Patrol. As we continue building on the most secure border in history, I can't think of no one better prepared to lead this organization into its next chapter.

Today is personal for me. Before I ever had the privilege of leading this organization, I wore the green uniform and stood the line alongside the men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol. I know the sacrifices made behind the badge, the long nights, the missed moments with family, and the pride that comes with serving something greater than yourself. For 102 years, Border Patrol agents have answered the call with courage, grit, and an unwavering commitment to protecting this nation. I could not be prouder to have been one of them. Happy 102nd Birthday to the U.S. Border Patrol and to every agent, past and present, who continues to carry the mission forward. Honor First!

Today, we honor the 161 Border Patrol Agents who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. For nearly 102 years, Border Patrol Agents have defended our nation against evolving threats while remaining steadfast in the mission to secure America’s borders and protect the American people. Because of their courage and service, our country is safer and stronger. We will never forget their sacrifice.

.@CBP mourns the loss of Border Patrol Agent Sean M. McDonough. BPA McDonough started his CBP career in 2007. He recently served at the Wellesley Island Border Patrol Station, Buffalo Sector in New York. He also served in Nogales Station and in Houlton Sector. BPA McDonough also served in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard, and as a Military Police Officer. He is a true hero who selflessly served to protect America. As a CBP family, we extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of BPA McDonough.
