Would you like to shape the future of connectomics ... even neuroscience? Fresh from finishing the two largest connectomes ever, we have post-doc and research assistant positions in the @flyconnectome group @CamZoology (collab w @MRC_LMB @ScottishWaddell @janeliaflyem) Pls RT 1/4
As of June 2023 the FlyWire full adult fly brain connectome and the Janelia FlyEM male ventral nerve cord represent the two largest complete connectomes to date (by metrics including proofread volume, numbers of synapses, proofread neurons etc). We have been able to identify many of the descending neurons that connect the brain to the nerve cord, bridging the two datasets. New work should deliver the first complete connectome CNS connectome for the fly (or indeed any animal with legs/wings).
