Another prime example of our shambolic recruitment strategy led by utter incompetence. Any self reflection had to have led in the sackings of the sporting leadership team who have been complicit in destruction of Chelsea Football Club.
Niko Kovač advised Bayern against signing one of his own Dortmund players last year How? Last summer, after Bayern failed to sign priority target Nico Williams, they turned to alternatives. One of them was Dortmund's Jamie Gittens. The supervisory board, including Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, was skeptical about the player. A club employee was tasked with contacting Niko Kovač to get an honest opinion from him about Gittens. Kovač is said to have made it more than clear that he considers the Englishman "not professional enough" to succeed at FC Bayern. The club then abandoned the pursuit of Gittens and went all in on Luis Díaz. Gittens ended up joining Chelsea [@BILD, Bayern Insider]

There’s going to be a lot of noise around the GK situation next season. Yes Penders has potential but he’s nowhere near ready. Sanchez in simple terms is a joke.
🚨🧤 Chelsea are expected to go into next season with Robert Sanchez competing with Mike Penders for the no.1 spot. Any incoming GK would likely need to represent a significant upgrade for the club to change direction. (@NizaarKinsella) #CFC

God we’re going to be heading into the season with either Jackson, Delap, or Emegha backing up Pedro 🥴🥴 That’s not the behaviour of a serious club.
A centre-forward signing is not expected. Chelsea are looking at adding a goal scoring winger or a versatile attacker. (@NizaarKinsella) #CFC #Chelsea

Tbf a decent World Cup and they’ll probably get that sort of money. Worth waiting it out tbh.
🚨 Manchester City verbal proposal to Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson was worth £106m add-ons, taking it above £120m. #NFFC want British record fee guaranteed, not after bonuses. No fresh talks with #MCFC over 23yo England midfielder @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/7335332…

If Arsenal and United have squad issues blimey what in the cluster fuck would you call our squad 🤔 Rodgers has great potential and has that star quality at times. I do have reservations. He blows hot and cold. The inconsistencies in his game are evident to see. During Villas slumps he went missing. We’ve had to much of that over the last 4 years. I’m not sure he’s got the personality we need right now. We don’t need any more passengers. Why I think it’s unrealistic. Transfer fee will increase if he has a good WC. We’re not able to compete against sides like Liverpool, City, United and Arsenal for players anymore. We categorically will not pay him the wages he will be able to get elsewhere. Considering our players have taken a 30% pay cut for not getting into Europe. Rodgers coming in at £150-200k is not going to go down well and we ultimately won’t pay the £200k he’ll be offered elsewhere.
🚨The Bluesfeed understand that Chelsea believe they are in a unique position in the race for Morgan Rogers. They can offer Rogers a clear starting role, either from the left or as a No.10. Arsenal and Manchester United both currently have other priorities and squad issues to address. #CFC #Chelsea

Remember when the sporting directors tried to spin that they’d secured an £80m obligation for Jackson? 😂😂 The difference between elite negotiators and complete imposters. The reality was the deal was structured so heavily in Bayern’s favour that Jackson was never signing unless something absolutely freakish happened. Fast forward and his value has dropped significantly. Now the club’s PR machine appears to be preparing supporters for his return, hoping Alonso can somehow rehabilitate his value. The problem is we’ve already got a substantial sample size. Poor finishing. Poor discipline. Immature behaviour. An uncanny ability to cost his team points in key moments. All whilst expecting to be treated as a starter. One more season should do it 🥴🥴🥴

Jackson having a nightmare tonight for Senegal. Sent off for 2 fouls in 2 minutes and missed a tap in.

That’s why Chelsea will be his stepping stone. Unlikely to be achieved under the current model and regime.

What on earth is this weirdo talking about? The amount of nonsense that gets posted about these players is wild. Barco, Penders and Quenda have little to no Premier League experience. They have potential. But potential and immediate impact are two very different things. Will they improve our starting XI next season? Mostly likely not. Will they significantly improve the squad? Again, probably not. As for Jackson, we’ve now got a large enough sample size to know exactly what he is. A shit finisher, immature, prone to poor decision making and someone who still believes he’s an automatic starter despite consistently costing the team in key moments. I suppose some accounts need to pin their hopes on something but pretending these players automatically elevate Chelsea is comical and why you can’t take them seriously. 😂😂

Mike Penders, Nicolas Jackson, and Geovany Quenda are all set to arrive at the Club this summer. Valentín Barco will also be arriving for an undisclosed fee, which hints at the price being well below his market value. Penders will eventually surpass Robert Sánchez for the number one position, Nico is better than all of our striker options (bar João Pedro), Quenda is also better than all of our wingers right no (bar Estevao), and Barco improves the technical ability of our squad is PERFECT for the way Xabi likes to play (if he plays in the Grimaldo type role). With hardly spending any money, we’ve improved the squad going into next season. That being said: sales MUST be our top priority right now. Once we figure that out, make 3/4 signings that all improve the team. Starting level players.

For me XA biggest task early on is getting the fans on side. Under Blueco there hasn’t been a manager supporters have truly connected with. It’s vital that fans buy into what Alonso is trying to build. Many supporters view this as one of the most unlikeable squads we’ve had in years. Too often they’ve come across as soft, disconnected, disrespectful, spoilt, and incapable of handling pressure. XA changing that perception is a challenge. I can’t see wholesale changes this summer. My expectation is three or four additions and many of the same faces returning next season. My belief is this is one last throw of the dice. The hope is Alonso can get a tune out of this group where others have failed. Writing off close to £2bn of squad investment would be embarrassing.

It’s not moaning. It’s actually hilarious. The usual suspects get triggered whenever anyone dares question or point out the incompetence that plays out in front of us on a daily basis. Whether it’s an 18 year old signing for Brighton or not being able to sell players like Disasi, or being held to ransom for Jamie Gittens, or bringing a CB in Jan from your sister club because you weren’t able to attract your first option who subsequently played minimal minutes, or bringing in coaches who wouldn’t out of place in League 1. What I find even more amusing is watching fans so desperate for this to work that they convince themselves the very people who created the mess will somehow become competent and capable 😂😂 Four years in and some still have their hopes pinned on these buffoons turning Chelsea back into a serious football club. The level of faith or as I would say delusion is admirable.
Exactly - would have been moaning we signed another teenager if we did. And the fact we haven't - the usual moaning lot are still moaning cause Brighton signed him 😂😂😂😂

Stadium is key? Well I know they haven’t been engaging with the CPO of late. If I’m honest I don’t know why any CPO shareholder would be willing to sell their share to these bunch of cretins.

This is brilliant. We were supposedly interested in the player only to watch them choose Brighton instead is absolute cinema. This “world class” multi club model they’ve spent four years trying to convince numpties they are building has somehow managed to make Chelsea Football Club one of the most attractive destinations in world football for the last 25 years, unattractive to the very market they’re targeting. That takes some doing. I wonder which SD’s this responsibility falls on give they’ve defined their specific roles 😂😂😂

Normally I’d be counting down the days until a World Cup. After watching last summer’s Club World Cup, I’m not so sure. Chelsea vs Benfica was ridiculous. Minutes from full-time was a storm in the area stops the game for hours. Not because it was unprecedented, but because it had already happened multiple times during the tournament. FIFA seem so determined to force football into the American market that they’re willing to sacrifice the flow, atmosphere and authenticity that make World Cups special. Another example of football’s decision makers putting commercial interests ahead of the fans who actually care about the game.
