Happy to hear @CTCorrections new commissioner has publicly committed to ending the terrible practice of sending sick people to Northern CI. That is step one. Close that facility down.

I am amazed at this country who brags about its Christian like morals and values but treats humans worse than animals. Animals are protected by cruelty laws, yet the incarcerated are not. And even worse people will say the incarcerated deserve to be treated that way.

Important post reiterating that we as movement should not be perpetuating the “violent” vs. “nonviolent” distinction of a racist, classist system that inflicts disproportionate harm in the name of the state.
A Thread: There are many people, including ourselves, calling for the release of people across the nation. We support these calls, but as we share these petitions, we also ask that you refrain from including 'non-violent' offender in the posts or captions. #LetThemGo #FreeThemAll

The SOR: A state/publicly funded hit list. Used to harm and discriminate against people who already served their punishment. It's a continued punishment and a way to shame and discriminate against a specific group of people. @CFRJustice

@GovNedLamont just characterized the handling of CT prisons as “so far, so good.” I’m sorry, sir but that is a bit of a mischaracterization based on the information and data coming from inside.
