#ISO17034 and #ISOGuide30 distinguish two groups of materials: #CertifiedReferenceMaterials and non-certified reference materials.
#RM and #CRMs must be sufficiently homogeneous, stable and well-characterized for the intended use.

The main differences between them are in the metrological traceability statement and in determining the property value and its associated uncertainties. Generally, a CRM involves the use of a primary method of measurement and RMs usually use a secondary one.
