The current first-round leader at the RBC Canadian Open, Sahith Theegala, was asked what his favorite video game is following the round (had mentioned earlier in the interview that he plays some games in his down time).
He mentioned a game called “Balatro,” which is described on the game’s website as a “hypnotically satisfying deck builder where you play illegal poker hands, discover game-changing jokers, and trigger adrenaline-pumping, outrageous combos.”
“It’s something I can be competitive in off the golf course,” Theegala said. “I still try and play a little bit of chess. I haven’t done too much. I’ve kind of plateaued a bit. I need some help on that end. But, yeah, it’s just a way to get my competitive outlet off the course without any risk of injury.”
