My tweets/retweets are: - sometimes personal opinion - sometimes just an interesting point for others to consider/discuss/engage on and not my personal opinion - never a reflection of companies or other people affiliated with me (even if I work with/for them) - sometimes a point I disagree on and want to engage others/expand upon - sometimes a point I partially agree on (especially in a retweet) & would like to read others thoughts. As a reminder: - I share so we all learn and grow — you literally cannot do either without discussing (particularly views you may not agree with). - I never share names of people or companies. If I’m tweeting, it could be a personal story, mentees/friends’, or one I heard with identifiers removed so we can all learn from it. If I’m tweeting about a work experience, I always mask company names/roles/time periods to either all blend together or to seem like a different company. If you wonder on any of the above (for anyone), you should ask.

When I visited a Montessori school years ago they had artwork at adult height and a smaller version beneath at children’s height. “The children learn at their level” I was told

Maybe it wasn’t a good idea to get a hotel in Times Square, during the World Cup and the NBA Finals.

Another strong milestone for #SAFE🇪🇺 and European security — we just signed SAFE agreement with Greece. It will help 🇬🇷 enhance its defence capabilities in the Mediterranean region through investments in strategic surveillance, secure communications & counter-drone technologies.

A family farm donated 87 acres of land to the city of Taylor, Texas to be made into a public park. The city sold it for $10 million to build a 135,000 square foot data center.

One of the best things my brother ever taught me: If someone tries to deadline you arbitrarily in a negotiation, the first thing you have to do is blow through the deadline. The alternative, accepting the deadline, surrenders your leverage up front. (Corollary: Don't impose arbitrary deadlines.)
Just a couple of days after I tweeted that real estate brokers primarily use their persuasion skills to convince you to take a bad deal rather than to negotiate with the opposing party, the senior broker accidentally copied me on an email to his junior broker doing just that. When I replied, instead of apologizing, he just doubled down. Not all brokers are like this but many are because that’s how the incentives work. Many service providers have bad incentives as part of what is considered “market” or generally accepted terms. When that happens, you can partially solve this problem through a mutual reference or sourcing the service provider through a community they share with you. That forces them to think more long-term than transactionally.

It's hard to imagine, but €49K ($56k) in Italy buys you four stone buildings. 420 m² of building across the four (about 4,500 sq ft), on a 500 m² plot (about 5,400 sq ft). - a two-level apartment with cellars, a garage, and a townhouse - the other two are ruins, each with its own garden. They're in Alvito, a medieval village in southern Lazio, halfway up the hill between a hilltop castle and the old town. All of it inside a national park, ~130 km from Rome. Looks good to me.

The only person who should be able to offend you, is you. Because you’re the only one who really knows you. Everyone else is shouting at a character they made up in their head with 99% filled in with projections from their own life.

Totally insane that there isn’t a dedicated bus lane for this. They do that on weekday rush-hours for commuter buses. Why couldn’t they do this for World Cup buses for the duration of that event?
View from one of the couple hundred Offical Host Committee buses to the World Cup. Fans are messaging me that ride from Midtown to the stadium is taking 1.5 to 2 hours (always traffic with football/concerts) NJ Transit Rail is close to schedule. Reporting @PIX11News

Good news story: A woman and her son were running late at Penn Station New York and missed the last train to the stadium. She was visibly upset and in tears after realizing they would miss the event.

I’m standing on business when I say this: If anyone ever comes into your workplace and asks for a coworker’s shift times, do not tell them. You have no idea who is asking. I always say, “I’m sorry, but I’m not at liberty to disclose that information.” Protect your coworkers.
