A delegation from the Ministry of Textiles, Central Silk Board and the Handloom Export Promotion Council visited the Silkworm Museum at the Yayun Sericulture Base in Haining on 16 March 2026, where large-scale contract-based silkworm rearing and farming practices were demonstrated. Providing strategic direction for research and development, the 35th RAC Meeting of CSB-ISBR, Kodathi, was held on 3 March 2026. The Chairperson, RAC members, and scientists reviewed completed and ongoing projects and evaluated new proposals to strengthen scientific outcomes.

Leadership Reflections at SERI-SETU: At SERI-SETU 2026, leaders collectively emphasised innovation-led transformation in sericulture. Padma Shri Dr. A.S. Kiran Kumar, Former Chairperson @isro highlighted research-industry integration as the engine of national progress, while Dr. S. Senthil Vinayagam, Director @iipm_bangalore stressed research capacity and cluster-based development. Shri P. Sivakumar, IFS, Member Secretary @csbmot called for field-level adoption of advanced technologies, and Shri P.S. Girisha, IAS, CSB reaffirmed strong policy support through key Ministry schemes, including the National Fibre Scheme. And, Dr. Manthira S. Moorthy, Director @nssocsb further stressed advancing foundational research and expanding sericulture vertically & horizontally to enhance value addition.
