Drill Sergeant of the Year #DSOY competitors, from across the @USArmy and @USArmyReserve, this morning were assessed on their tactical proficiency and ability to coach, teach, mentor the next generation of U.S. Army warfighters during Day 3 of the #DSOY competition.
In the final day of the @USArmy#DSOY Competition competitors, from both the Active Duty and the @USArmyReserve, were assessed on their ability to critically think outside of the box on ways to improve the IMT enterprise and problems currently facing the Drill Sergeant program.
Day 1 of the @USArmy#DSOY competition is a wrap, with competitors from across the Army, including @USArmyReserve, being challenged physically with the #AFT, evaluating their ability to train the next generation of warfighters, and their ability to think outside of the box.
The Drill Sergeant of the Year #DSOY Competition is the most physically and mentally challenging job interview in the @USArmy or @USArmyReserve. Competitors are forced to compete against one another in their ability to coach, teach, and mentor the next generation of warfighters.
The @USArmy established a new SQI called the #H2F Advisor. This SQI is the Army’s latest investment in how the Army prepares Soldiers to improve personal readiness on and off the battlefield.

Trainees going through #BCT or #OSUT experience their first Field Training Exercise #FTX called "The Hammer" in week 4. This #FTX challenges Trainees on all Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills they've learned during their transition from civilian into @USArmy Soldier.
After completing their time in Reception, @USArmy newest Trainees are shipped off to meet their Basic Training or #OSUT Drill Sergeants to begin their transformation from civilian into Soldier.

During #BCT or #OSUT Trainees are exposed to the Modern Army Combatives Program and taught how to respond to an enemy who is rapidly closing their distance. This training allows the @USArmy newest Soldiers to build confidence in themselves and their ability to defend themselves
After the 12-mile road march to end their Forge #FTX, the culminating event of Basic Training, @USArmy Trainees participate in the Soldier Ceremony, where they've earned the ability to be called a Soldier as they've met all graduation requirements.
During White Phase of Basic Training, Trainees are exposed to their second Field Training Exercise (FTX) 'The Anvil'. This FTX exposes Trainees to the field and basic squad tactics such as React to Contact, Buddy Team Movement, and Establishing a Patrol Base.
Trainees going through Basic Training experience their first #FTX called "The Hammer" in week 3.
Trainees will experience two more #FTXs during BCT which build upon one another to challenge them on their Warrior Tasks, battle Drills, and Skill Level 1 Tasks.
In Week 2 of Basic Training Trainees must overcome their fears and conquer the Rappel Tower. This event challenges them to build confidence in themselves and their equipment, foundational skills that they will build upon during their transition into a @USArmy Soldier
Last week, the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant Academy welcomed Maj. Gen. Nick Crowley, Commandant of the @RMASandhurst. During the visit they shared best practices on leadership development, professionalizing the force, and learn how the @USArmy is modernizing to prepare for LSCO.
