Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) is executing the Ankai–Karanjgaon (53.01 km) and Parli Vaijnath–Parbhani (58.06 km) Doubling Projects in EPC mode for Indian Railways under the Nanded Division of South Central Railway, enhancing rail capacity and connectivity across the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. Ankai is located in Nashik District, Karanjgaon is in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District (formerly Aurangabad), and Parli Vaijnath is situated in Beed District, Maharashtra. The Ankai–Karanjgaon section lies on the important Manmad–Aurangabad–Nanded route, connecting Marathwada with the Mumbai–Bhusawal–Delhi trunk routes through Manmad Junction. The Parli Vaijnath–Parbhani Doubling Project strategically links Parli Vaijnath with Parbhani Junction on the Secunderabad–Manmad main line. The section strengthens rail connectivity among Parli Vaijnath, Gangakhed, Parbhani, Latur, Nanded, and Hyderabad-bound routes, enhancing both passenger mobility and freight capacity across the Marathwada region while improving access to one of India's most revered Jyotirlinga pilgrimage centres at Parli Vaijnath. Steady progress has been achieved on both projects.
