We are excited to host this event - a gathering of families, clinicians & researchers who took part in the @CCPUKstudy research investigation of children with unexplained hepatitis in 2022-23.
Massive thanks to @ORCGlasgow @GCH_Charity@WeeScotLivers for supporting the event. 🙏🏽
Palm was at the British Society for Immunology #BSIConf presenting on behalf of the @cvrinf Preparedness Platform our research investigating the role of AAV2 in mysterious pediatric hepatitis cases. Fueling important scientific discussion and discoveries in Belfast today! 🌟
Together, these studies show the importance of monitoring immunity, virulence & disease severity as SARS-CoV-2 evolves to help guide public health strategies.
They highlight the need for updated vaccines to provide broad protection against new variants.
gla.ac.uk/research/az/cvr/en…
Additionally, research from @CVRPreparedness & colleagues tested blood from vaccinated people to measure antibody neutralisation of emerging variants.
Data show current boosters provide cross-protection against BA.2.86.

📢 | New insights into Omicron immunity and virulence
CVR researchers quantified virulence of #Omicron subvariants in hamsters using digital pathology. Newer variants such as BA.2.75 and EG.5.1 appear more virulent than original BA.1 strain.
