40 years ago this week, at the World Congress of Neurology in Hamburg, MDS was born. From that small meeting, MDS grew into a global community advancing care, research, and education in movement disorders. Here’s to the next 40 years!

40 years ago, at a “clandestine” late-night meeting in a Hamburg hotel room, the Movement Disorder Society was born. Celebrate 40 years of MDS at the #MDSCongress: mdscongress.org

Developing trainees into the next generation of leaders in Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders is what the @movedisorder Aspen course has been about for 34 years. Today these 3 neurologists and 1 neurosurgeon from @FixelInstitute @UFHealth will join 95 other trainees to graduate and become Aspen alumni, and they will have the toolbox to enable them to pay it forward and to impact many lives for this generation and the next. Gratitude!

It’s the end of an era. The passing of a wonderful clinician, teacher, mentor and scholar: Dr. Kapil Sethi. A rather unfortunate event for our movement community. You will be sorely missed. Thanks for all you have done for the field.

A double blind trial was conducted live this morning @fixelinstitute to determine once and for all whether American or Canadian maple syrup is superior on taste testing. Graduating movement fellows all blindly rated an American syrup (from a field of four samples) as number one (superior). You are all now ready to graduate, as you have used science to solve a critical question facing society. Note for those watching from afar, two of three fellows were Canadian. From left to right: Jason Chan headed to Vancouver, Ariane Carpentier headed to Montreal and Matt Remz heads to his new office at Fixel @UFHealth gator nation. #parkinson #ufmovement #michaelokun
