Closing a successful week at #Posidonia2026, CSC Marine Manager Chrysostomos Efthymiou, participated today in the Young Executives Shipping (YES) Forum at Posidonia, contributing to the discussion on attracting and developing the next generation of maritime professionals. During the forum, he highlighted the Chamber's long-standing initiatives aimed at promoting maritime awareness and education among young people, including the successful Adopt a Ship Programme. An insightful discussion at the European Maritime Day 2026 Conference in Limassol, where Themis Papadopoulos, CSC Past President and CEO of Interorient Navigation Co Limited, participated in the panel discussion on “Blue Industrial Leadership.” During the discussion, he highlighted that the success of #CyprusShipping is down to the close cooperation of the public and private sectors and that for #Europe to maintain its lead and competitiveness in Shipping it must, when regulating, remember that Shipping is global and that regulations while ambitious, must be kept simple and pragmatic. Στην 37η Ετήσια Γενική Συνέλευση του @CYShipping, ο Πρόεδρος της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας @Christodulides, επεσήμανε το κοινό όραμα για μια σύγχρονη, ανταγωνιστική και βιώσιμη κυπριακή ναυτιλία, την θέση της οποίας η Κυβέρνηση συνεχίζει να ενισχύει στον παγκόσμιο ναυτιλιακό χάρτη.⚓️

Στη δυναμική πορεία της κυπριακής ναυτιλίας και στη συνεχή ενίσχυση της θέσης της Κύπρου ως σύγχρονου και ανταγωνιστικού ναυτιλιακού κέντρου διεθνούς εμβέλειας αναφέρθηκε ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας @PresidentCYP @Christodulides κατά την ομιλία του στην Ετήσια Γενική Συνέλευση του Κυπριακού Ναυτιλιακού Επιμελητηρίου στη Λεμεσό, σημειώνοντας ότι το Κυπριακό Νηολόγιο κατέγραψε αύξηση 23% από τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2023, φτάνοντας στο υψηλότερο επίπεδο των τελευταίων 25 χρόνων, ενώ ο τομέας της διαχείρισης πλοίων παρουσίασε αύξηση εσόδων κατά 19% μεταξύ του πρώτου εξαμήνου του 2023 και του δεύτερου εξαμήνου του 2025 και τα έσοδα από το Σύστημα Φόρου Χωρητικότητας αυξήθηκαν κατά 8,6% το 2025. Υπογράμμισε ακόμη ότι η Κύπρος επανεκλέγη στην Κατηγορία C του Συμβουλίου του Διεθνούς Ναυτιλιακού Οργανισμού καταλαμβάνοντας την 7η θέση παγκοσμίως από τη 12η θέση πριν από δύο χρόνια, ενώ οι αφίξεις κρουαζιέρας κατέγραψαν αύξηση 30% το 2025, επιβεβαιώνοντας τις σημαντικές προοπτικές ανάπτυξης του τομέα.

#CSCAGM2026 | We concluded our Annual General Meeting today with a keynote address from a leading expert in International Security and Strategy, Prof. Marios Panagiotis Efthymiopoulos, Director at Strategy International (SI) and Associate Professor of International Security and Strategy.   Prof. Efthymiopoulos, provided a timely assessment of how shifting geopolitical tides are impacting the shipping industry. His insights into the specific competitive advantages of Cyprus were particularly valuable, offering a roadmap for how we can leverage our position to ensure continued growth.   Our sincere thanks to Prof. Efthymiopoulos for his expert contribution and for bringing a global perspective to our discussions today.
