Our Homicide Unit continues to investigate the deaths of two people in the northeast community of Temple yesterday.
๐ On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at approximately 2:05 p.m., police attended a home in Temple to check on the welfare of a resident. Upon entering the home, officers found a woman & a child deceased.
Following autopsies conducted today, Thursday, June 11, 2026, by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the death of the boy, aged 7, has been deemed a homicide. The death of his mother, age 42, was deemed to be suicide. Police believe she is responsible for her sonโs death & are not looking for any other suspects.

Out of respect for the impacted family, identities of the individuals are not being released.
In this case, there was no reported history of family violence.
