We've been working with @HomeGrownOrg on the @thrivingproproj, the first direct cash transfer program in the U.S. to focus exclusively on home-based child care providers. Read more here: stanford.io/3DNtquv

One of the most maddening things about U.S. family policy is that both sides agree new parents should have time with their babies, yet we can't even agree on 6 weeks of paid family leave, much less 6 months. I'm also tired of talking about child care policy w/o talking about PFL

Proud that @UICnews and @UIC_CollegeofEd are leading the convo on #ece by framing this discourse as about schools being "ready" for all kids, not just up to kids/families to get ready! #schoolreadiness #openaccess
It is launch day! readychild.org/ Our website provides #families & #eceteachers the resources to work together to identify each child's unique strengths and build on them as they prepare them for #kindergarten. All of our resources are open-access & free!

We really need to start talking about public child care spending as an investment that MAKES money for states -- to say nothing of the increases in child & family flourishing, community health, and freedom. Check out these figures from Utah! ksl.com/article/50560429/new…

The science is clear: Infant-toddler teachers are brain builders, not babysitters. The sooner public policy, training, and compensation catch up with this truth the better.

To both candidates: given your responses to the question about roe v wade being overturned, how do you plan to protect the lives and wellbeing of children once they’re born? #utdebates

Today’s @washingtonpost editorial on the #childcare crisis includes this sad factoid from the Bureau of Labor Statistics: America’s child care professionals make, on average, 59 cents less per hour than its DOG WALKERS. Let that sink in.
