I spent a day with David McKee last year; at one point he said to me: ‘People make the mistake of assuming that picture books are for children. They are not. They are for the space that children and adults occupy together. They are the only books both adults and children read.

Callington Library is soon going to have its hours reduced to 1 full day and 2 half days per week. We still have a library. For less than half the week admittedly, but we still have a library.

Closures at #Dawlish are only going to become more frequent as sea levels rise. It seems likely even a planned causeway is still going to get overwashed - that's why we must reopen Okehampton-Bere Alston as a diversionary route to keep Plymouth and Cornwall connected.

China investing heavily in public libraries. This one is designed to be a tourist attraction and Instagram dream while at the same time having big proper bookshelves and study spaces elsewhere. There is an auditorium inside the globe. Video is worth the watch.
