Gale-force northwesterly winds blowing down the Irish Hills are producing plenty of compressional heating. The PG&E EEC in Avila Valley hit 97°, while Port San Luis was at 86° at 1 p.m. Just a few miles away, Diablo Canyon reported a temperature of only 61°. #AvilaBeach #CaWx

We assisted our County brothers and sisters overnight on a fire in rural Paso Robles. Cooperative fire protection works.
Units will be committed for a few hours extinguishing the fire on Jardine Road.

If the wind & rain forecast verifies, the foliage on our trees at this time of the year will make them more susceptible to limb breakage & toppling over. Assume downed power lines are energized. Call 9-1-1 immediately to report the location. Afterward, call PG&E at 1-800-743-5000

Training has begun for our four new reserve firefighters. These four recruits bring a wide variety of knowledge and experience to the department and are eager to hit the floor after their academy.
We will be assisting our partners @CALFIRE_SLO with pile burning of invasive French Broom along Highway 1 between Santa Rosa Creek and Cambria Dr. Drive cautiously and watch for emergency vehicles and personnel near roadways.

Our partners @CALFIRE_SLO & @FireSafeSLO will be burning piles today on Cambria Pines Rd south of Kathryn Dr as part of ongoing hazardous fuel reduction efforts. You may see/smell smoke in the area. Watch for emergency vehicles and personnel in roadways.

Dorking Ave is closed between Emerson Rd and Sandown Pl due to a tree that has knocked down powerlines. @PGE4Me has been notified.
Units are responding to a down tree into a structure on Rodgers Rd. More info to follow.

Moderate damage to a single structure with no injuries. Residents have been evacuated and the structure will be further assessed. Rodgers Rd will be closed until further notice.
We have multiple hazardous conditions incidents in the district at the moment. Cambria Pines Rd is closed between Buckley Dr and Kathryn Dr. Langton St is closed between Ardath Dr and Cowper St.

The @NWSLosAngeles is predicting 1.5-3 “ of rain starting tomorrow. Sand is available at Lampton Cliffs County Park in Marine Terrace & the old dog park at the intersection of Main St and Santa Rosa Creek Rd. Bags are not provided but are available at the Cambria hardware store.

Some functional fitness today at station 57 during our short break from the rain. Performing physical fitness and training on and off duty allows us to be ready for your emergency at any time!
Now that calmer weather has returned, Cambria Fire has resumed normal staffing levels. During the 96 hrs of storm conditions, we responded to 12 storm-related calls. Most were for fallen trees across roads or compromising power lines.
