(7/8) The Cambronne Lab researches metabolism biology with molecules, namely NAD . Vitamin Bs like nicotinamide, with help from NAMPT & NMNAT, synthesize NAD in the salvage pathway. William’s work isolated Vitamin Bs, enabling us to continue researching metabolism.

The really nice aspect of seeing these papers independently tackle the problem from such different directions means that the supporting evidence for the central discovery is now very, very strong. A big advance for our basic understanding of mitochondrial NAD metabolism!
