ALT AmeriCorps Terminates $400 Million In grant funding. Learn more about the impacts of this action and discover 5 ways you can help. bit.ly/help-AC
ALT What happened?
Late Friday evening, the AmeriCorps agency unexpectedly and immediately terminated nearly $400 million in grant funding.
This termination shutters more than 1,000 programs and ends the service of over 32,000 AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers.
Programs in all 50 states, DC, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands received termination notices.

ALT Who is impacted?
AmeriCorps members will be left suddenly without a living stipend and other benefits, such as healthcare. Many of them will be facing housing, food, health, and/or other financial emergencies as a result.
Hundreds of staff members who direct and manage these terminated AmeriCorps programs will likely lose their employment.
Communities across the United States and territories will be left without crucial services — like mentoring and tutoring students, food delivery to seniors, veterans assistance, disaster response, and so much more.

ALT How can I help?
1. Contact your Members of Congress using the tool from Voices for National Service.
2. Donate to our emergency assistance fund for AmeriCorps members.
3. If you are an AmeriCorps alum, share your story with Service Year Alliance.
4. Join States for Service, ASC’s policy coalition advocating for service and volunteerism.
5. Write a Letter to the Editor expressing your support for AmeriCorps.
